Finance Manager/Head of Finance
The role is responsible for managing, controlling, and optimising the financial performance of Basketball England.
The post holder will oversee the finance function and provide the CEO, Executive Management Team (EMT), and Board with insight, and strategic advice to support decision-making and long-term sustainability.
As a member of the EMT, the post holder will contribute to the organisations leadership and is expected to demonstrate and promote Basketball England’s values in all aspects of their work.

The University of Portsmouth Basketball Club are recruiting a coach to lead their Men’s 2nd team for the 2025/26 season. The team currently competes in the British University and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Tier 2 South East league.
The successful candidate will be required to deliver weekly training sessions from September - April, and attend fixtures.
Training sessions take place on Mondays, 6.30am - 9am (1st & 2nd team) and Tuesdays, 6.30am – 9am (2nd team) at Ravelin Sports Centre, with fixtures occurring on Wednesday afternoons (time and locations vary).
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the student club committee and other coaches to deliver the club’s pre-season programme, and trials at the start of the season
- Lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of weekly training sessions
- Select the match day squad, communicating with players and team captain
- Attend fixtures and manage the match day squad
- Lead on performance team meetings where relevant, working with other support service staff to set goals, expectations and analyse results
- Attend club committee meetings where relevant
- Promote the club’s philosophy to all members
- Adhere to the University’s Code of Conduct and relevant policies
- Be fit to work with adults at risk
Criteria
- Essential: England Basketball Level 2 coaching qualification
- Essential: Previous playing and coaching experience
- Desirable: Good knowledge of Basketball, particularly within higher education
Payment
£20 per hour for training, match day fee to be discussed at interview
