If you have registered with Basketball England as a licenced member, and have paid your membership fee in full, then you are covered under Basketball England’s programme of insurance during your involvement in recognised basketball activity (as defined below) during the insurance period (subject to the terms and conditions of the policy).
This also applies for coaching and officiating as long as you are appropriately qualified and involved in recognised activity.
Please note this does not apply to free members.

Affiliated basketball clubs also benefit from insurance cover, providing the club has paid their affiliation fee in full and where all participants are members of Basketball England and participate in recognised versions of the game.
Affiliated leagues also benefit from insurance cover, providing the participants that play in the league are members of Basketball England and participate in recognised versions of the game.
No. You must hold at least a Basketball England L2 qualification and have paid your licence fee in full to be covered by Basketball England insurance.
However, if you are unqualified you will be able to assist a L2 qualified coach, providing you are also licenced with Basketball England.
Non-members are not covered by Basketball England insurance.
However affiliated basketball clubs, are covered for ‘taster’ sessions (up to 5 sessions) as long as the non-members are sampling the club for the first time.
To be eligible for this cover, signed and dated attendance records must be kept by the club to evidence non-member activity.
Insurance cover applies when licenced members are participating in recognised basketball activity and it is not dependent on who else is participating in the activity.
A pregnant member should only participate in recognised basketball activity with the approval of their doctor.
Neither Basketball England, the basketball club, or league will be held liable for any pregnant individual participating in recognised activity, should the expectant mother suffer any damage to herself and/or the unborn child as a result of participation.
The Basketball England personal accident policy provides cover for all members of Basketball England, who are participating in any recognised basketball activity anywhere in the world.
