Three of the four BBL Cup Quarter-Finals have now been confirmed after the competition got underway over the weekend.
Plymouth Raiders were quick to put last week's league loss away at Bristol Flyers behind them as they recorded a convincing 86-68 victory to reach the Cup Quarter-Finals. Joonas Jarvelainen poured in 29 points with Donte Nicholas adding 16 points and 16 rebounds in the win.
Willie Clayton produced a huge performance with 23 points and 25 rebounds to lead Manchester Giants to a 75-92 triumph on the road against Surrey Scorchers. The Giants had not made it past the First Round in six previous attempts since their BBL return in 2012.
Cheshire Phoenix began the defence of their BBL Cup title in style with an impressive 64-93 win away at DBL Sharks Sheffield. Dii'jon Allen-Jordan starred with 23 points, six rebounds, six assists and six steals in the win.
Meanwhile, Radisson RED Glasgow Rocks ended a run of five straight defeats as they saw off Worcester Wolves in an 89-61 home victory. Bouna Ndiaye scored a game-high 26 points in the win, while the visiting Wolves dropped to the bottom of the table with a 1-6 record.
"The game wasn't won today, it was won at practice - we had a really good week," said Rocks' Kieron Achara.
"It was important to get our confidence back. We had to find a way to trust each other. Worcester are in a similar position and when their heads dropped, we capitalised."
On Wednesday, London Lions moved to 5-1 in the BBL Championship as they defeated Cheshire Phoenix 87-81. Brandon Peel led the way with 22 points and 13 rebounds with Ladarius Tabb also adding a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards in the win.
