Basketball England are excited to announce the four new team members that have been drafted onto the roster - Meehra Gorasia, Kristine Ogden, Dave Owen and Shaun Williams.
Gorasia and Ogden shall be our new Executives in the Customer Services department, with Owen as Insight Analyst and Williams co-ordinating with referees and volunteers for us.
Here’s a bit of background for you on the quality quartet that has joined our ranks!
Hailing from a basketball-mad family, Gorasia has been involved with the Myerscough College Basketball Academy since its formation and provided Performance Analysis support for their Under 18 Men’s team (as well as England’s Under 15 Girls and Great Britain’s Under 20 Men) in that time. She will be table officiating in both the NBL and the Manchester Area Basketball League (MABL) throughout this forthcoming season.
Former Stockport Ladies player Ogden enjoyed a playing career spanning over 20 years before qualifying as a FIBA-accredited Level Four table official. The standout highlights of her officiating career to date include scoring/table officiating at the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games and the 2013 Euroleague Final Fours the following May.
Having become addicted to the NBA from an early age, Owen is perhaps best known nowadays for showcasing the achievements and performances of British players at all levels – from elite-level/overseas pros to the NBL – through his self-titled website and social media platforms ‘Dave Owen Basketball’. Until recently, he also ran his own local development club and is a Level Two qualified coach.
Williams referees and table officiates Basketball England and British Wheelchair Basketball (BWB) games, while he also table officiates in British Basketball League (BBL) fixtures. Away from his dual officiating roles, he is the treasurer of the Sheffield Basketball League.
