The Board of Basketball England is seeking to appoint one Elected Director through the election process as stated in our Articles of Association. We are seeking a knowledgeable and suitably experienced person who is enthusiastic about helping Basketball England govern the sport well and assist in developing the right approaches to grow, resource and develop the sport. Applications from candidates with experience on other Boards and businesses in addition to their basketball interests are also welcomed. This role requires a strategic perspective for the game development and the sustainable growth of the sport. You will be required to attend at least 6 Board meetings per year, the AGM, Board planning days and will represent the Board at events and any sub committees.

A list of nominations shall be distributed by the Secretary to all Full Members together with the agenda, notice of the Annual General Meeting and instructions for voting, on Friday 6th September 2019.
The closing date for Director applications will be Wednesday 21st August 2019.
Following the application process, we will be releasing details of how to vote for Director Elections in which our full members are entitled to vote. An email has been sent to the email address we hold on our system for the voting representative of each club. If this email address is incorrect, please contact us before 5pm on Friday 30th August. We will be unable to amend your details after this date.
All voting will be undertaken electronically through the independent election services organisation, UK Engage who have provided democratic election services in the UK for many years. We have taken the decision to use an electronic voting system to aid efficiency and reduce costs within the organisation.
UK Engage will email each voting representative on Friday 6th September with details of the nominations and how to cast your vote. You will have until 4pm on Thursday 25st September 2019 to cast your vote. The results of the election will be announced at the AGM.
Full members are also entitled to vote on resolutions at our AGM on 28th September 2019. You must be physically present at our AGM to cast your vote. Alternatively, you may send a proxy along to the AGM to vote on your behalf. Your proxy must be physically present at the meeting. If you would like to do this, please email
