Basketball England's All Girls campaign got under way at the WBBL Trophy weekend in Essex on Friday and Saturday.
The campaign aims to inspire more women and girls to engage with the sport at all levels.
Guests including GB Women’s head coach Chema Buceta, legend of the women’s game Patricia Fairclough OBE and referees Kate Unsworth and Jess Fox, addressed a special conference.
Basketball England CEO Stewart Kellett said:
“We are delighted to have been able to launch this important campaign during this great weekend of women's basketball.
“These female players and officials and the GB national team are the inspiration for our next generation.
"All Girls will promote our great sport and increase opportunities for women and girls of all ages and abilities to get involved in basketball. It will focus on the sport’s grass roots, promote the continued success of our GB women team - and everything in between.
"We encourage everyone in the game to get behind it and help raise standards and opportunities for females in the game and attract new blood to it."
Basketball England chair Clare Wardle said:
"It has been really exciting and encouraging to see everyone coming together to push for greater opportunities and recognition for all involved in women and girls' baketball. This is just the start - now we must push forward and really make things happen."
