As the NBL heads towards the mid-season break at the end of December, there's just a few weeks of action left for 2019. Week 11 had some fantastic performances across our leagues, with five worthy winners now selected for Player of the Week honours. Congratulations to all the players chosen!
For the second time this season, Kieran Jones has been named as our D3M Player of the Week.
Jones was once again in sparkling form, dropping 52 points for the Knights as part of a 111-91 home win over Warwickshire Hawks.
The win pushes Stoke up to joint 4th with a 6-4 record as the team goes into a pivotal double-header against Wolverhampton and Derby next weekend.
For the 2nd time this season, the Diamonds have provided our D2W Player of the Week. Charlotte Levitt is a worthy recipient for week 11, following team mate Helena Palmer back in week 3.
Levitt was dialled in on Sunday to score a team high 26 points, making all the difference as Derbyshire managed to overcome Sheffield Hatters 60-57.
The win keeps the Diamonds flawless on the season with a 5-0 record.
Yonathan Napoleon was unstoppable in week 11 and a no doubt selection as the D2M Player of the Week.
After suggesting last week that 50+ point performances were somewhat of a rarity in the higher reaches of the NBL, we've now seen them in back to back weeks! Napoleon helped the Pioneers beat a solid Ipswich team 111-91, contributing 50 points, 20 rebounds and six assists for a staggering 70 efficiency rating.
“I’m honoured to be awarded player of the week again," said Napoleon, who received the D2M award back in week 9.
"The coaching staff and my teammates all deserve credit as they put me in a position to succeed. I look forward to seeing our team continue to improve.”
No stranger to this award, ARU's Madeline Homoly has been selected once again as the D1W Player of the Week.
American Homoly helped keep league leaders Anglia Ruskin in top spot, with her 36 point, nine rebound, two assist performance pushing the Rhinos to a 78-74 win over Reading. It was a do it all performance worthy of the 30 efficiency rating.
ARU are now 8-1 on the season, and two points above 2nd place Team Solent Kestrels.
Solent came through one of their toughest tests so far this season, and they have D1M Player of the Week Elliott Sentance to thank in part for that.
Sentance caused constant problems for Hemel Storm as the the Kestrels eventually triumphed 79-74, with the talented forward contributing 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals for a 25 efficiency rating.
"This was a game circled on my calendar and a much needed win for us, as far as league positioning goes," said Sentance.
"We share the ball so well as a team which makes it easier for each of us to play our game.
"Big shout out to our coaches for great scouting and game control, we are looking forward to another match up with Hemel this weekend in the cup."
