NBL Division Two

Jordan Santiago - Derbyshire Spartans

This week’s Division Two Player of the Week is Jordan Santiago from Derbyshire Spartans.

Santiago scored 25 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and two steals to lead his side to a 98-85 victory over Bristol Academy Flyers.

“Big win for us over the weekend,” Santiago said.

“I was impressed with our shot selection and ability to score from all positions. When everyone buys in to our team defence, that’s when we are at our best offensively.

“Individual accolades are always something to be proud of, but the main takeaway from this weekend was how everyone showed up to play and contribute to the win.”

Derbyshire Spartans Head Coach Mark Woodhouse added: “Jordan has been out of the game for a while prior to this season, he’s just been looking for an opportunity.

“I’m glad the Spartans were able to give him his shot this year. He’s getting better every game and I’m sure there’s a lot more to come from him. Really looking forward to how the season unfolds for him and the team.”
