Day three started with a an 11th - 12th play off game for both the U14 boys and girls. Broadmore's side faced a tough side in Iceland Blue which showed their class from the tip pulling out to a commanding lead by the end of the first period with the score at 22 - 7. England came into the second quarter much stronger and managed to win the quarter 15 - 13 seeing the score at 35 - 24 as the half closed. However, as Iceland Blue came out in the second half and showed their strength as they grew their lead by winning the quarter 22 - 10 seeing the score at 57 - 34 as the final quarter began. The fourth quarter continued in the same fashion as the Icelandic side saw the game out winning it 83 - 57.
The U14 boys game saw them face off against Norway. The first quarter had Coach Dickson's side battle hard as the teams traded baskets but, a late unsportsmanlike foul by the Norwegian side converted by England saw them go into the second with a 21 - 15 lead. The English boys started the second strong scoring 6 unanswered points quickly building on their lead, Norway then found their feet but where held off and England went into the break 44 - 29 up. Dickson's side came out into the second half focused on defence as they held their opponents to 4 points in the whole quarter as they won it 12 - 4. The final quarter had the teams trade scores until the Norwegians tried to mount a comeback but, it was to little to late as they could only narrow the deficit before the final buzzer as England won 67 - 50.
The first game of the afternoon pitted our U15 girls against the Home side Denmark White in what turned out to be a dramatic event. The first quarter showed what sort of game it was going to be as it finished 17 - 16 in favour of the home side. The second quarter saw this pattern continue as half time came the teams where tied 33 - 33. Stanciuca's side came out in the third and continued the battle as neither team gave up and as they entered the last period the score was still tied at 48 - 48. The Danish side came out in the last quarter and and built the first lead of the game as they entered the final few minutes with the score at 61 - 55. The girls from England then made a run lead by Grace Strickland which saw them take a 64 - 61 lead . Denmark then scored and equalised as the game was going into the final seconds. Coach Stanciuca then called a time out hoping to win the game out of it. From the time out Charlie Wroe received the ball and drove hard to the basket and lay the ball up heavily contested which dropped giving England the lead, the win and the bronze medal! A great way to finish an amazing tournament for the Girls which saw a great individual performance as Fatmata Janneh made the All Star five.
England's last game saw our U15 Boys battle with a home nation side in Scotland for the bronze medal. The first quarter showed how even the two sides where as neither could take a noticeable lead as it ended 22 - 21 in favour of the Scots. The second quarter contunued in the same way as the lead changed hands multiple times before a late run by Scotland had them go into the break with a four point lead, 47 - 43. Out of the break Coach Chris Bourne's side managed to make it a tie game through some good 3 point shooting but, Scotland managed to regain control of the game and build a 7 point lead as the game went into the last period, 70 - 63. The final quarter saw England make runs trying to take the lead but, Scotland managed the game fantastically and stopped the runs from Bourne's side which saw them take the win and the bronze medal in a 96 - 89 win.
