Basketball England's Technical and Talent Performance Manager Steve Bucknall shared his thoughts, "The Georgia Jones 2005 tournament is the first of its kind supporting the aspirations and development of girls basketball. It's a great preparation event for under 15 girls to play some competitive basketball before the season begins.
"The Tournament name is also a fitting tribute to current GB player Georgia Jones who was a product of Manchester's legendary basketball programme and came through their system before achieving success in the United States, Europe and our domestic leagues. Our England Talent Programmes players have a role model which they can look up to and this event will provide them with an opportunity to show their dedication and ambition to be the best."
