A simple, yet powerful online campaign between Basketball England and Manchester-based creative digital brand communications agency Mosquito has led to success via a prestigious industry award.
In front of 400 hopefuls at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, comprised of the region's leading creative and digital agencies, Mosquito won the Best Digital Marketing Campaign: Entertainment/ Sports at the Northern Digital Awards for their collaboration with Basketball England: #TogetherWeAreBasketbALL.
Anthony Diver, Managing and Creative Director of Mosquito, said: “We're delighted for Basketball England to achieve this recognition. The campaign was devised as a 'rally cry' for all members to be part of basketball - not just focusing on higher-league players, but the fans, the coaches, referees and officials too.”
“Providing high production values to the campaign to reach deep into the hearts and minds of the community, the campaign has made all lovers of the sport come together with strength and unity.”
The Northern Digital Awards recognise the very best in digital marketing campaigns and talent across the North, as well as rewarding websites, apps and software to reflect the online world that public, private and third sector organisations now inhabit, trade and communicate in.
Mosquito were tasked with building a fresh, engaging new Basketball England brand from the ground up in order to support the governing body's plans for high growth, increasing membership numbers and deeper content strategies. That refresh of the organisation’s look and feel could then be used both on and offline and in a wide array of marketing and promotional collateral.
“Thank you to Mosquito for all their assistance in putting together a brand and campaign that truly captured the inclusive nature of the sport we all love,” said Basketball England’s Marketing and Communications Director Sarah Robertson. “It’s fantastic to receive this award after all the hard work that’s been put in.”
The project undertaken on the Basketball England brand sits alongside a significantly larger body of ongoing work as the organisation looks to completely re-scope and update the digital platforms used across all areas of the business. We’ll have more on these developments in the coming weeks.
