Four fixtures make up week 10 of the WNBL Division One, with Thames Valley Cavaliers featuring on both days of the weekend.
In this week’s WNBL Game of the Week, Reading Rockets take on Thames Valley Cavaliers.
Just two points separate the sides in the league table in a battle of fifth against sixth respectively in what will be Thames Valley’s second game of the weekend.
The Rockets last featured in week 7, defeating Loughborough Riders 75-54, avenging last season’s National Cup Final loss. Candela Hermida Nunez scoring 14 points.
Likewise, Thames Valley last played in week 8, falling to a 78-67 defeat to Nottingham Trent University.
Loughborough Riders (2-4) host Ipswich Basketball (5-2). The Riders recently suffered a 88-33 loss to top of the table Anglia Ruskin University, and sit seventh in the league table. Harriet Welham has been in solid form for Ipswich, and they last defeated Bristol 79-59 in week 7, with the former Player of the Week scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and two assists.
BA London Lions II (0-6) are without a win so far this season and sit at the bottom of the table, and they face Team Solent Kestrels (5-2), who sit second in the table. Krisztina Velkey scoring a team high 12 points for Kestrels in week 8, but it wasn’t enough to claim the victory over Bristol Academy Flyers.
In their opening fixture of the week, Thames Valley Cavaliers take on Bristol Flyers (4-3), who were one of four teams to feature in week 9 as they claimed a 63-51 win against Nottingham. Hannah Wallace scored 12 points for Bristol, with Rebecca Cantin adding 11 more and Mai Zilbeti scoring 10.
