It's a quieter week in WNBL Division One with just four games across the weekend. That said, three of the division's top four sides are all in action so there's plenty of exciting match ups still to look forward to.
After a commanding win last weekend over Barking Abbey, Reading now have back to back home games to continue making a push towards the top of the D1W standings. The Rockets welcome Loughborough to town tomorrow, an opponent they know well in both this competition and the WEABL. These sides also squared off in the Women's National Cup Final last season, with the Riders taking the glory on that occasion 81-54.
Despite that cup success, Reading did the double over Loughborough in the league last season and the Riders will be itching to set that record straight here. Alex Baker has top scored in each of the visitor's last two games, expect her to be involved heavily again tomorrow.
With Anglia Ruskin out of action this week, Team Solent Kestrels (4-1) can grab a share of top spot if they can beat Nottingham Trent University (0-4). NTU lost a shootout against Ipswich last week 100-97, showing this is a team with plenty of talent at their disposal. Beating Solent will be a tough ask, but look for the former D2W champs to start picking up wins sooner rather than later.
Bristol Flyers' (2-2) defence of their regular season crown has started slowly, already dropping nearly as many games as they did through all of last year. Their schedule doesn't get any easier here either as they take a trip to Ipswich (4-2) tomorrow.
Finally, the weekend's action in D1W is tipped off by Barking Abbey Lions II's (0-4) trip to Southwark Pride (1-2). That game is scheduled to get underway at 2:00pm on Saturday as both London sides look for a valuable two points.
