We are back underway in D2M with seven fixtures kicking off the action in 2020.
We start the year with a couple of derbies in store, so it is sure to be an entertaining return to the courts.
The battle of Bristol takes place this weekend as the Hurricanes look to cause an upset against the eighth-placed flyers.
Flyers have had the better season so far but Hurricanes will be high in confidence after ending 2019 with their first win, an 83-76 home victory at the expense of Derbyshire Arrows.
The Flyers, meanwhile, earned a 72-69 win over third-placed Charnwood College Riders, thanks to 26 points from the bench.
There are plenty of bragging rights at stake in a match that might be closer to call thank some think.
In the rest of the Northern Conference action, Manchester Magic (6-3) travel to leaders Newcastle University (9-1), who are hoping to make amends after ending the year with their first loss of the season.
Not having star man Thomas Horvat showed in their 62-53 defeat and it could be a dangerous time to face them as they look to reassert their winning formula.
Derbyshire Spartans (4-6) travel to Myerscough College (7-2) in what will be a tough test for the Midlands side.
Myerscough were last in action on December 8 when they beat Charnwood College Riders 79-66, and will be raring to go on their return as they attempt to cut the gap on Newcastle after losing their unbeaten run.
Derbyshire Arrows (5-6) host Sheffield Hallam University (0-8) and won’t want to be the side that gifts another opponent their first win of the season.
Arrows were outdone by Hurricanes in their last fixture of 2019 and want to end their run of two straight defeats.
In the Southern Conference there is the London derby between BC Medelynas London (6-4) and London Greenhouse Pioneers (4-3) with little to separate them in the table.
Donald Morris’ 20 points wasn’t enough as Westside narrowly lost to Essex Rebels 91-90 but still sit third in the table.
Pioneers are only two points behind, though, meaning this game has a lot more than bragging rights at stake.
Team Solent Kestrels II (3-6) face Ipswich Basketball (5-3) and will be the happier of the two sides after how the end of 2019 went.
Kestrels came out on top of their clash with fellow strugglers Sussex Bears 77-76, whereas Ipswich lost out 111-91 to Pioneers.
Jake Eynon had an impressive 42 points in that game though and will be hoping a similar performance will be enough to get Ipswich back on track.
Finally East London All Stars (4-2) take on Sussex Bears (2-7) and will hope to get back to winning ways after a disappointing end to their year.
All Stars will want to get some rhythm back into their season after an 82-71 defeat to Greenwich Titans sandwiched a called off and postponed fixture in December.
