Week 17 contained some stunning performances, including another monster stat line in D1W and a triple double in D2M! We've got another five awards to hand out to some worthy recipients, and congrats to all those chosen this week.
Congratulations go to Northamptonshire's Leon Henry, he's been named as our D3 Player of the Week.
Henry deserved recognition for his 48 point performance against Bury that kept the Titans undefeated on the year, helping seal a 147-57 final score. Henry wasn't done though, dropping a further 36 points on Sunday to seal a win against Nottingham Trent University, capping a highly impressive weekend.
"We are here to take everything. The league, the playoff, the title, we will not settle for anything less," said Henry.
Ellie Maidman has been selected as our D2W Player of the Week after helping the University of Hertfordshire to a low scoring victory against Cardiff City.
The 2nd Wolves player to win the award in the last three weeks, Maidman was the only scorer who made it into double digits against Cardiff, making a huge difference in a gritty win.
The result pushed Hertfordshire to 5-3 in the D2W Southern Conference, good for 3rd place.
After helping Medelynas to a narrow 87-85 victory over Greenwich Titans, Ausridas Petraitis is our D2M Player of the Week.
Doing it all against the Titans, Petraitis secured a 27 point, 10 rebound, 10 assist triple-double to go with three steals and a 41 efficiency rating.
"It is great to be selected as Player of the Week," expressed Petraitis.
"However, all credit goes to my team, I guess since they help me to get triple double. I will have to treat them with dinner!"
Currently joint 2nd in the D2M Southern Conference, Medelynas are 9-4 and enjoying a four game win streak.
For the sixth time this season, Harriet Welham has earned herself the D1W Player of the Week title.
In an important road contest against 3rd place Solent, Ipswich avenged their early season loss against the Kestrels to come out on top 82-72. Welham was a constant factor on the game, finishing with 39 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals for a 39 efficiency rating.
The result keeps Ipswich top of the D1W standings with five games remaining in their schedule.
“We don’t win this game without Esther’s [Little] huge double-double. We don’t win this game without Charlotte [Redhead] stepping up and playing such a key role off the bench," said Welham.
"We don’t win this game without Cameron, Danni, Grace, Coco, Becky and Ella doing their jobs just as well as I do mine. This is a team game and this was a huge team win – I love playing with these girls."
Head coach Nick Drane added: "This was a massive win for us, Solent really are one of the best teams in this division. Harriet was fantastic as always, but its hugely important that we acknowledge the contribution of the whole team.
"It takes a lot more than one player to be in the position we are in at this stage of the season and we have players all over the place doing a brilliant job. That being said, she is averaging well over thirty points per game for a team that has won eight straight games and this is her sixth player of the week – she is unquestionably the most influential player in this league."
After the Dragons sprung an upset on Worthing Thunder last Sunday, Sulcs has been chosen as our D1M Player of the Week.
Sulcs was in fine form throughout the afternoon, both with the ball and on the glass. 22 points were a team high, as were 16 rebounds, adding seven assists and three steals for good measure.
"I am thrilled to win this weeks award; however, individual stats are of secondary importance to me, so long as the team wins and performs the way we did this weekend against Worthing," said Sulcs, who had a final efficiency rating of 38.
Bradford's 91-83 win keeps them in the 8th and final playoff spot, 1 win ahead of Leicester Warriors in 9th.
