Only three game weeks remain in D1W as we edge closer to crowning a regular season champ and embarking on the playoffs. There were four games this past weekend, here's a recap of all the action.
A game high 17 points from Lucia Serrano Ranz were enough to help Reading Rockets to a 71-55 win over Thames Valley.
The result helps Reading in their quest for a top four spot in D1M, with the Rockets now also claiming the head-to-head tiebreaker between these two sides should they have a tied record come the end of the season.
After an even start, the visitors grabbed the 2nd period 29-15 to create an advantage the Rockets would never relinquish.
Tahnee Kennedy top scored for the Cavs with 13 points, whilst the dangerous Diana Voynova recorded a 10 point, 10 rebound double-double but was held in check by Reading for the most part.
Anglia Ruskin continue to do what is required to seal the D1W regular season title, beating Loughborough Riders 68-35. Katrin Hulme enjoyed a 24 point, 15 rebound double-double as a 29-9 opening quarter set the tone for ARU in this one.
Ipswich continue to push their title rivals all the way though, keeping the pressure on with an 86-68 victory against BA London Lions II. Harriet Welham continued to strengthen her case for MVP as she dropped 29 points, but the plaudits here belonged to Danielle Cazey as she knocked down seven triples on her way to a 32 point haul.
Bristol Academy Flyers took a tight game against Nottingham Trent University, eventually coming out on top 86-80. All tied up at 75-75 with four minutes remaining, Bristol went on an 11-5 run down the stretch to grab two valuable points. Flo Ward played the full 40 minutes, scoring 24 points to go with nine rebounds, five assists and two steals.
