That advantage grew rapidly and with 43 points separating the sides by half time, the game was as good as over.
Solent's starting five of Smith, Jackman, Okoronkwo, Arissol and Charles all recorded an efficiency rating of 21 or more, with Arissol leading the way on 27 points as he went 7/11 from range.
Newcastle have plenty to be proud of during their maiden campaign in D1, but the North East side were overmatched here despite 24 points from Ronald Blain.

Hemel will take part in their first D1 playoff final since 2017/18 after a 95-82 victory over Worthing Thunder.
Saturday's win was revenge for three years ago when Worthing claimed the title, with guard Mike Williams putting in an elite performance when it mattered this weekend.
The American has been in top form during the post-season and his 45-point outburst here was his best performance yet.
Williams' consistent flow of points helped the #3 seeds to keep hold of the lead after the grabbing it late in the first quarter, though the difference between the two sides only dipped below double-digits once during the second half.
The hosts shot 55% from the floor during their most important win of the season so far, with Greg Poleon's 22 point, 15 rebound double-double providing solid support for Williams.
Worthing's hero from a week ago Tom Ward scored 22 points, as did Max Richardson, who added 11 rebounds for his own double-double.
