2022/23 season: Portal set to go live this Monday, membership support planned throughout August

The Basketball England membership portal will switch over to the 2023/23 season on Monday 1 August 2022.

With NBL, WNBL, Jnr. NBL, BUCS and local league competitions all set to get underway in the coming months, players, coaches, officials and other groups will be able to head online and licence for the upcoming campaign.

Anyone taking part in the competitions listed above will need to buy a licence ahead of the new season, as will coach and official tutors. There will also be new Terms & Conditions for members to sign up to, with more information available on this from next week.

Individuals requiring multiple licences for combined roles will still only pay for the most expensive. As with the previous season, this will be calculated at the point of purchase by the portal.

Our priority in the first few days of August will be to support club admins, team managers and area registrars as they access their accounts before we begin onboarding other groups such as coaches and officials as the month progresses.

We’ll have more information about these onboarding dates once the portal is open.

As an additional level of support, on Tuesday 2 August 2022 we’ll be running a webinar, 6-7pm, for club admins to refresh their knowledge of the portal and upskill new admins so they’re aware of what is required for the new season. This webinar will also serve as a great opportunity to ask questions and share knowledge, and there’s a button to join the meeting below.

Throughout the month of August, members will also be able to sign up to 10 minute time slots for one-to-one assistance, with flexibility on dates, time windows and methods of meeting (Phone call, Teams call or Zoom call) to suit each member.

One of our team can then offer bespoke help and advice for players, coaches, officials and more to sign up and get ready for the season ahead. To book your slot, please use the button below.

People will still have the option to sign up for a free membership at any point this summer, which requires just a few clicks to access a range of benefits and information.

Perfect for anyone who loves the game but doesn’t have an active role in it, like fans, followers and parents, it’s also a great way to receive updates on our #GameTime campaign and the upcoming 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Anyone with an existing free membership from 2021/22 will need to sign in and renew it for 2022/23. This will become a rolling process with no need for renewal after this season.
