Four Nations: England U16s girls win in Dublin - results, recaps, gallery

England U16s girls wrapped up their Four Nations mission with a clean sweep of wins in Dublin.

They beat Ireland today, following wins over Wales and Scotland yesterday.

The boys bettered Scotland yesterday, beat Wales this morning but came up just short against winners Ireland in their final game.

Scotland U16 Girls 37-76 England U16 Girls

England made a flying start to their Four Nations campaign with a big win over Scotland.

Adaora Dioramma of Haringey Hawks had a game-high 19-points, while Maisie Keyes (Manchester Mystics) and Deanna Carrington (Ipswich) posted double figures with 14 and 10 points respectively.

England led 19-15 after the first quarter after five quick points from Keyes and though Scotland fought back strongly in the second, Megan Verbeeten (Storm Basketball Club) and Keyes posted important points late in the quarter to send England in front 33-27 at half-time. 

Coach Cristina Stanciuca's side came out firing in the second half, with a 23-5 third quarter and the fourth was just as dominant as England scored 20 points to Scotland's five.

Scotland U16 Boys 42-95 England U16 Boys

England Boys recorded a second win to make it two from two against Scotland.

Kervy Mabaya-Muteba (Enfield Scorpions) led the charge with 16 points, backed by Maxwell Revell (Eisbaren Bremerhaven, Germany) and Khyle Capanzana (London Lions) who hit 14 and 12 points respectively.

Alexis Lewis' side raced into a 24-6 lead in the opening quarter and were comfortable throughout. They didn't let up as a 25-8 fourth quarter ensured it was two huge wins to begin the Four Nations in Dublin.

England U16 Girls 91-41 Wales U16 Girls

England Girls racked up another impressive victory over Wales.

Verbeeten continued her strong start to the competition with a game-high 20 points, closely followed by Keyes who ended the game with 19.

 England were always in control as they led each quarter to finish with just under a century score.

Enlgand u16 Boys 80-43 Wales U16 Boys

England Boys produced a commanding second-half performance to run out big winners over Wales.

Ethan Round (Northamptonshire Titans) produced the goods with 19 points for Coach Lewis' side, while Revell (15 points) continued his early form.

A tight start to the contest saw England go into half-time with a slender 32-28 advantage but a strong 30-7 third-quarter swing gave them all the momentum to take a second win in the competition.

ireland U16 girls 61-73 England U16 Girls

England Girls sealed their status as Four Nations champions following a win over host nation Ireland.

The in-form Verbeeten put in a top-scoring 18 points, with Keyes (16pts), Ayla Habbal Haringey Hawks, 16 points) and Dioramma (15 points) also producing the goods.

A strong second 20-8 quarter gave England the advantage going into half-time and managed to contain the raucous home to stay on course for an unbeaten tournament.

ireland U16 Boys 89-84 England U16 Boys

England Boys fell just short in their quest for Four Nations glory as hosts Ireland won in overtime.

Down by one deep into the fourth, Round rallied to level the scores before a close-fought period of overtime which went down to the wire.

Mabaya-Muteba (15 points), Walton (13 points), Capanzana (11 points), Lewis (11 points) all delivered big displays but it wasn't to be in front of a raucous Ireland crowd.
