NBL1 recap: 28/29 October - live streams, stats and more

October's D1M action is now in the books, and the ending didn't disappoint.

Six top-flight games took place across the last two games, with some big scores and even bigger performances.

The number of unbeaten teams has been reduced, with losses for Loughborough and Nottingham, though both those teams are still well placed in the early going.

We take a look at all of the weekend's action below, with links to live stats and live streams at the bottom of the page.

Derby Trailblazers (2-1) 104-96 Hemel Storm (2-2)

Derby landed the first punch between two title hopefuls this weekend, beating reigning champs Hemel Storm 104-96.

The win came courtesy of one of the performances of the season from Derby's Jonas Dieterich, who notched a stunning 37 points on 12/14 shooting from beyond the arc.

Hitting 85% from range is truly spectacular, but to do so with such volume was too much for Hemel to overcome as they fell to their second defeat of the season.

Dieterich's onslaught allowed the hosts to build a 23-point lead early in the fourth quarter, seeing off a late surge from the visitors to claim a huge win.

Sam Masten (31pts, 6ast, 4reb) played a solid game for DTB alongside his teammate's shooting masterclass, with Malcolm Smith (15pts) the only other Trailblazer to make it to double-digits.

Hakeem Sylla (18pts, 11reb) enjoyed his customary double-double for Storm, with Brayden Inger (20pts, 7reb), Seth Swalve (16pts, 8ast) and Sam Newman (15pts, 8reb, 6ast) all playing well in defeat.

Elsewhere this weekend

London Elite (1-2) picked up their first win of the season as they beat Barking Abbey (0-4) 76-67 to open the weekend, but tasted defeat against Worthing Thunder (1-2) on Sunday, going down 86-74 as Luke Moore, Daniel Johnson-Thompson and John Fairbairn all dropped 13 points for the hosts.

Bradford Dragons (1-3), handed a first defeat of the season to Nottingham Hoods (2-1), coming through in a close one 86-82.

Hoods had led by as many as 17 in the second quarter behind strong play from Landon Taliaferro (25pts), but Bradford would storm back to claim their first W of the new year thanks to 31 points from Justin Williams.

City of Birmingham Rockets (3-0) remain unbeaten after they saw off Thames Valley Cavaliers (1-3) 103-86.

CoB led for the majority of the contest thanks to Samuel Toluwase's 32-point, 11-rebound double-double, cancelling out 27 points from TVC's Bode Adeluola.

Finally, Reading Rockets (3-0) came through the battle of the unbeatens yesterday, easing past Loughborough Riders (2-1) 87-66.

Reading led for all but the briefest moments of the contest, gradually building their advantage as the game wore on. The hosts won the turnover battle 23-8 and grabbing 28 points from turnovers in the process as Zach Powell (13pts, 9reb, 4ast) continued his hot form.
