Talent: Provisional Aspire calendar as nominations open, England dates

The provisional schedule for Basketball England Talent activity in 2023/24 has been released. 

With a successful 2022/23 season completed, plans have been drawn up for the new season.

The calendar can be revealed for: 

• Aspire, the nationwide programme for talented 11-15-year-olds 
• England U14 and U15 national teams (England Talent Programme)
• England U16 and U18 national teams 

Talent Delivery Officer Meehra Gorasia said: 

“We have moved to release the Talent Calendar to the membership as early as possible to allow our workforce and players’ families to plan ahead and for clubs to support their players who are on the Talent Pathway. 

“We have worked with our Competitions department to ensure Talent and NBL activity clashes as little as possible.” 

The Aspire Programme will again feature initial Regional Skills Camps, before selected players move on to Super-Region Camps. The programme will culminate with the Aspire All-Star National Tournament. 

England national team activity will take place in identified windows between December and July. 

All dates are provisional and subject to change. 

The nomination process for coaches to put players forward for the Aspire programme will open soon.

Nominate a player for Aspire 2023/23

Club coaches are now able to nominate age-appropriate players (2009-12 born) for the Aspire Programme, though parental/guardian consent must be sought before this process takes place. Eligible players from the 2022-23 programme will be automatically invited to the 2023-24 programme.
