Aspire: Second nomination window for 2024/25 season now open

The second window for nominating players to take part in the Aspire Programme 2024/25 is now open.

Basketball England's Aspire Programme is for talented 11-15-year-olds that takes place on a regional and super-regional model and is delivered through camp-based activity throughout the year.

Club coaches are now able to nominate age-appropriate players by following the protocol below.

Player eligibility for 2024/25 is those born between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2013:

  • 2010 = U15
  • 2011 = U15
  • 2012 = U13
  • 2013 = U13
Nomination protocol
  • Coaches must first contact to the Regional Talent Managers via email:
  • In your email submit the player's name, date of birth, club, and reason for referral.
  • Check out the Player Development Framework: Pillars of Delivery to help you shape your nomination (access the document below).
  • BE recommends submitting a video with the nomination that is a realistic representation of a player's abilities, demonstrating as many skills and attributes as possible (in line with the Framework).
  • If an RTM advises that the player is appropriate for the Aspire programme, the nominating coach will then be asked to complete a formal nomination form (access the form below) NB the form will be live from the 2 December 2024.
  • The BE Talent and Performance team will then send out a registration form out to the parents/guardians of the nominated player.
  • Parents and guardians must fill out this form to provide consent for player involvement in the programme, this includes essential medical information and other information pertinent to participation.
  • The registration form is then sent to the camp directors of the Aspire region where the player is from and they will then be invited to join a regional Aspire Spond group, where they and their parents/guardians will be notified about camps, etc.
