GB Maxibasketball: Exciting coaching and performance support opportunities

GB Maxibasketball wants to recruit more coaches and sports science personnel ahead of FIMBA's 17th World Maxibasketball Championship 2025 in Ticino, Switzerland.

Player interest in the national masters programme has swelled following coverage of the England, Scotland and Wales teams' exploits at the 2024 35+ Tri-Nations tournament, as well as GB's multiple age-group successes at the 12th European Maxibasketball Championship in Italy.

Part of Basketball England's Talent Pathway since 2020, GB Maxibasketball has seen an increase in the numbers of players signing-on, with a view to extending their playing career and competing internationally.

GB Maxibasketball Programme Director Sadie Mason MBE said:

"We are anticipating an increase in the number of GB teams that will compete at the World Champs in Switzerland and this will require additional coaches and support staff to join the programme.  We therefore invite expressions of interest from qualified coaches - Level 2 and above - and sports science professionals to join us, with a view to coaching and supporting our training camps and to travel with the teams to Switzerland."
