NBL: Hoods nab Dragosavac as coach for 2024/25

NBL Division One side Nottingham Hoods have announced Vladan Dragosavac as their new head coach for the 2024/25 season.

Dragosavac brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles in Serbian basketball, having coached at the National Team level and spent over two decades with BC Vojvodina.

His more recent positions include serving as Performance Manager for Basketball England and Great Britain Basketball, and as Head of Performance for England's silver medal-winning team at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Dragosavac will be looking to improve on the fortunes of a Nottingham team that haven't enjoyed a record above .500 in the last two seasons. Going 11-13 last term under the stewardship of Dan Watts, the Midlands outfit also went 11-15 in 2022/23.

The Hoods have been in D1M since their promotion in 2018/19, enjoying a highest finish of fourth in 2021/22, when they went 18-8.

Nottingham Hoods Basketball Managing Director, Russell Levenston, said:

“We’re thrilled to announce Vladan Dragosavac as our new Head Coach.

"This is a pivotal appointment for the Hoods, and we’re excited to welcome someone with such a wealth of experience to our team.

"Having known Vladan for many years, I am confident that his expertise and leadership will be instrumental in fostering a winning culture within the Hoods programme.”

New Head Coach Vladan Dragosavac commented:

"I’m absolutely thrilled to join the Nottingham Hoods and have the opportunity to lead this incredibly dedicated group of players.

"This role marks an exciting new chapter in my coaching journey, and I’m eager to collaborate with Russell and Lee English on this inspiring project.

"My primary focus will be on cultivating a strong, competitive team culture that embodies passion, determination, and excellence every time we step on the court.

"Together, we’ll work tirelessly to achieve our goals and bring success to the club and our loyal fans. I can’t wait to get started and see what we can achieve this season."
