In Division 2 Men’s North, Manchester Magic got their second win of the season with a 74-59 success over local rivals Myerscough Basketball Academy. Jack Walton shot 60% from three-point land for his team-high 14 points and eight assists in the win.
Bristol Academy Flyers II joined Manchester with two wins as 23 points from David Thomas gave his side a 95-85 victory over Liverpool, who were led by Chris Bigley’s 20 points and 18 rebounds.
Elsewhere in the North, Encon Derbyshire Arrows got their first win of the season with a deserved 100-77 victory over Leicester Warriors, and Worcester Wolves beat Cardiff City 78-68.
Down South, Barking Abbey maintained their unbeaten start in Division 2 as a 23-8 fourth quarter lifted them to 70-62 win over Greenwich Titans. Ilias Taiwo paced the winners with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
After collecting an opening day win on the road, London Stars stumbled in their opening home game of the season, as 22 points-apiece from Sable Cooper and Teddy Okereafor secured an 86-72 win for NASSA.
Westminster Warriors finally got off the mark as they recovered from a slow first quarter to race away in the second and secure an 89-70 victory over the winless Cobham Cobras.
Justin Hitchman led the way with 19 points for the Warriors, cancelling out former Westminster guard Guy Rundle’s 11 for Cobham.
Elsewhere in the South, Team Solent Kestrels got their D2 campaign off and running with a hard-fought 94-82 win over Endeavour Ipswich, thanks to 27 points and 11 rebounds from Isa Brandon, and Stephen Asante’s 18 points led Richmond Knights to an 86-76 win over Barnet Bulldogs, who were led by Chuck Duru’s 19.
London Elite picked up their first win, 86-80 over Essex Rebels II behind 23 points from Romario Spence.
Team Solent Kestrels got their first win at the second attempt with a convincing 70-47 W over Endeavour Ipswich II on the South coast as the Kestrels held their counterparts to just four points in the first 10 minutes, en-route to an impressive win.
Anna Idiata Mendez and Glory Uzomefuna both led the Kestrels with 17 points.
There was success for Division 2 Women’s two Cardiff clubs as the Archers dismissed Liverpool 84-66 for their first win of the season and Cardiff City maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign with a solid 81-67 road win over Charnwood Riders.
Elsewhere, East London Phoenix captured bragging rights in the capital with a 66-51 win over the London Thunder and on the South-West, Bromsgrove Bears came away with a 60-51 win over Plymouth Marjon Patriot Women.
The lone Sunday game in WNBL2 saw Oaklands College Wolves II come away with a gritty 63-55 win over London Elite thanks to a game-high 22 points from Caitlin Ryan.
In Division 3, there was just the one game over the weekend with Nottingham Trent Hoods battling to a 98-88 win over the University of Hertfordshire Storm.
