NBL2/3 & WNBL2 recap (6-8 December 2024) - recaps & scores

Storm Darragh saw many games were postponed across the lower NBL and WNBL divisions but there was still plenty of action.

There was also a rare Friday night game in Dronfield as the Encon Derbyshire Arrows continue to put pressure on the league leading Bristol Academy Flyers II, and Leicester Warriors also maintained their good form.

NBL2 North

Second-placed Leicester Warriors and third-placed Encon Derbyshire Arrows scored victories this weekend with Bristol Academy Flyers II not able to play due to the effects of the weather.

The Warriors (8-3) comfortably dismissed the Worcester Wolves (2-8) on the road 103-75 thanks to 24 points from Josh Williams-Clifford, whereas the Arrows (8-3) narrowly beat Myerscough Basketball Academy (4-5) 95-89.

There was to be some joy for Myerscough though, as they breezed to a 72-49 win over Worcester Wolves on Sunday. Marcus Robinson was stellar for his 25 points.

Ipswich's Lee Linton-Hodges (Richard Leach)

NBL2 South

Team Solent Kestrels (8-1) continue their good run of form as they ousted the Cobham Scorchers (2-8) 77-53. Matt Hughes led four Solent players in double figures with 14 points.

Barking Abbey (9-1) recovered from their loss to the Kestrels by comfortably seeing off a strong Richmond Knights (7-4) side, whose form has started to dip after a solid start to the season.

Ethan Conway went an eye-popping 7/8 from three-point land for his 27 points to pace BA.

Barnet Bulldogs (2-6) continue their rise up the table as they outlasted the Westminster Warriors (2-8) 90-71. Brandynn Manning shot 57% from the field for his 20 points. Before that, they kept Endeavour Ipswich Basketball (0-10) winless, beating them 90-89 despite a 17/15 double-double from Lee Linton-Hodges.

London Stars (8-2) bested Greenwich Titans (5-4) 101-88 in a physical all-London affair. Nojus Zajankauskas led the way for the winners with 20 points, going 4/7 from three-point land.

WNBL2

In a light WNBL2 schedule, Thames Valley Cavaliers II (3-4) continued their good run of form with an 80-62 win over East London Phoenix (5-3) at Uxbridge College on Saturday.

And Endeavour Ipswich Basketball II (4-4) secured a vital 67-65 win over Hemel Storm (4-4), with Lauren Liddamore leading the victors with 16 points.
