Save the date: Basketball England's Safeguarding Awareness Week

Basketball England is hosting its own Safeguarding Awareness Week on the 9-13  September. 

The purpose of the week is to bring safeguarding to the front and centre of people's minds ahead of the 2024/25 season start and to discuss important safeguarding topics. 

All activities will be hosted digitally by the BE Safeguarding Team.  

Planned activity

• 9 September: Information on Safeguarding at Basketball England - all you need to know before season start  
• 10 September: The first of the Club Welfare Officer (CWO) forums on Zoom (10:00 and 19:00 sessions will be available)
• 11 September: Information on common safeguarding themes, poor practice and low level concerns  
• 12 September: The second of the CWO forums on Zoom (10:00 and 19:00 sessions will be available) 
• 13 September: Information for parents - keeping your child safe in sport and providing positive support  

Save the date. Registration for the forums will open at the end of August.
