WNBL1 preview: 9/10 March - live streams, stats and more

Five games fill the weekend as D1W races towards the end of the regular season.

Ipswich can move to within touching distance of the regular-season title as they travel to Barking, with a four more games across tomorrow and Sunday.

We take a look at all the weekend's action below, with links to live stats and live streams at the bottom of the page.

Brent Bulls (14-5) vs Reading Rockets (8-7)

Reading's playoff credentials will be put to the test this weekend as they head to Brent.

The Rockets still have seven games to play before the end of the season, offering a risk/reward element to their late-season push.

Whilst the Berkshire side may have to battle some fatigue with so many games in a short period of time, coach Portero Luque's side could reach the post-season with some serious momentum on their side if results go to plan.

Sunday's visitors have already won three in a row to that effect.

Recent losses to both Ipswich and CoLA have all but ended the Bulls' title push, but that should derail their season entirely with playoff seeding still on the line.

Sunday's hosts are still right in the mix for a top-two finish, and the play of Jess Davies (13.6PPG, 13.2RPG) and Judit Fritz (20.0PPG, 3.2APG) has been a treat all season long.

How Fritz deals with Reading's American standout Lindsey Cleary (15.6PPG, 10.6RPG) remains to be seen, with forward Parfaite Ando (10.8PPG, 8.6RPG) also hitting some hot form in recent weeks.

Both these teams have different goals right now but both need two points in what should be a high-quality contest.

Elsewhere this weekend

Leaders Endeavour Ipswich Basketball (16-3) head to Barking Abbey (6-12) with a chance to potentially seal the regular-season title. A win and a loss for Thames Valley against Manchester would hand the Suffolk side their first regular-season crown since 2020/21.

Bristol Academy Flyers (7-12) lost their grip on a playoff spot after last weekend's heartbreaking 56-55 defeat against CoLA. They'll need to bounce back this weekend as they host City of Birmingham Rockets (3-16), who are now confirmed for a bottom two spot.

Sunday begins with Team Solent Kestrels (1-17) still fighting for pride at the bottom. The Kestrels lost 72-71 against Reading last time out and will hope to continue that level of play going against CoLA Southwark Pride (13-5).

The final game of the weekend sees Thames Valley Cavaliers (14-4) chasing a win against Manchester Mystics (8-10) that would keep their title challenge alive for another week. With the Mystics right in the scrap with ARU and Bristol for seventh through ninth, they won't be a pushover this weekend.
