Loughborough battled to a narrow win in the North West yesterday, beating Manchester 68-62 on the road.
The Riders held the lead multiple times in the contest, including by double digits in the second quarter, but every time the Mystics would find a way to battle back.
The teams were tied at 61 with 67 seconds remaining but a late Daisy Porter driven 7-1 run got the visitors the W.
Porter netted five of those points as part of a 17 point haul, with team mate Erin Powell (17pts, 11reb) tying her in scoring as part of her double-double.
Shooting an identical 36% from the floor as their opponents, Manchester was pulled down by their 62% clip from the free throw line, plus 28 turnovers.
Rehana Khalil (22pts, 10reb, 6ast) continued her recent good form despite the loss as Irene Oboavwoduo (18pts, 7reb) also chipped in a useful contribution.
Loughborough look well set to retain the #5 seed the rest of the way, six points in front of the teams chasing but still a ways back of the top four.
Manchester slip down to the eighth and final playoff spot, with Reading in sixth down to Barking in tenth now separated by just four points.

Reading Rockets (8-7) began making use of their games in hand with a Friday night victory over Barking Abbey (6-12), winning 80-75.
Tied with 2:45 to go, Reading went 6-1 the rest of the way to claim the W thanks in part to a 19/11 double-double from Parfaite Ando.
CoLA Southwark Pride (13-5) took the all-London clash with Brent Bulls (14-5) 71-68 off the back of a last-second triple from Glory Kabia.
The basket was Kabia's only one of the afternoon, with CoLA instead being led by Violet Stutz (19pts) and a double-double from Felicia Jacobs (15pts, 13reb).
Judit Fritz had a massive 34 points for the Bulls, but it wouldn't be enough.
Leaders Endeavour Ipswich Basketball (16-3) had no problem seeing off City of Birmingham Rockets (3-16), winning 89-70 to seal an immediate return to D2W for the Rockets.
Olivia Forster (21pts) was the pick of a number of standout performers for the hosts, though Nuri Seyedagha (23pts) would lead all scorers for CoB.
Saturday ended with defeat for Anglia Ruskin University (8-10) as they went down 68-43 against Thames Valley Cavaliers (14-4).
ARU were held to single digits scoring in two of the four quarters as TVC ran away with the contest off the back of 14 points from Katie Richards.
Sunday saw a number of teams doubling up on the weekend, including Reading, who broke the hearts of bottom side Team Solent Kestrels (1-17), 72-71.
Ando was at it again, with a 16 point, 14 rebound double-double to make it two wins in three days for the Rockets, with Gabriela Kostova-Dobrova (18pts) leading TSK in scoring.
There was another one point contest at CoLA, as Pride narrowly beat Bristol Academy Flyers (7-12) 56-55.
The hosts led for most of the contest before the Flyers grabbed the advantage in the fourth, but CoLA regrouped to stage a late 11-3 run and nab the W.
Brent ended their weekend with a sizable win against Barking, enjoying 42 points on another strong outing from Judit Fritz to win 104-32.
