WNBL1 recap: 9/10 November - live streams, stats and more

Four teams are tied at the top of D1W after another round of action over the last few days.

CoLA Southwark Pride got a leg up on long-time rivals Endeavour Ipswich Basketball to draw those two teams level on eight points, with Loughborough and Brent also taking up spots in the top four.

We take a look back at all the weekend's action below, with links to live stats at the bottom of the page.

CoLA Southwark Pride (4-1) 77-55 Endeavour Ipswich Basketball (4-2)

A 22-9 opening quarter powered CoLA past Ipswich on Saturday, with Pride running out to a 77-55 victory.

Ipswich never recovered from their slow start, trailing from tip to buzzer as they dropped their second game of the season.

CoLA's Debra Wilson-Osuide scored a team-high 19 points to go with a useful double-double from Chloe Vella (13pts, 11reb) and a near triple-double from Chandera Jones-Aryeh (7pts, 10reb, 9ast).

Pride's defence held up against the free-scoring reigning regular season champs, with only Harriet Welham (19pts) and Maddy Wormald (11pts) able to pass into double-digits for the visitors.

At 4-1, CoLA now move onto a trio of games against teams currently outside the top six in Worcester, Bristol and Barking, providing further opportunity to continue their early season momentum and build a real title challenge by the time the month is out.

Ipswich on the other hand need to pick themselves up quickly as they face another title rival in the form of Brent Bulls in Suffolk next Saturday.

Elsewhere this weekend

Barking Abbey's (1-4) winless start to the season is over after the recorded an impressive 71-58 road win against Loughborough Riders (4-2).

Megan Verbeeten exploded for a stunning 37 points to go with 10 rebounds and the double-double, netting eight triples in the process.

Anglia Ruskin University (3-3) edged past Cobham Cobras (3-3) 67-63 to move back to .500 on the season, with Tia Freeman and Izabelle Booth both netting 19 points in the win.

Worcester Wolves (2-3) were able to keep Reading Rockets (0-5) as the only winless team in D1W as they triumphed 81-62 behind a standout performance from Nina Wallace (24pts, 8reb, 6ast, 6stl).

Wallace's battle with Reading's Mia Thompson (23pts, 7reb) was a good one, but with only Jade Blackburn (11pts) making it to double-digit scoring with Thompson, the visitors would come up short in the end.

Bristol Academy Flyers (3-3) made it two in a row as they beat Thames Valley Cavaliers (2-3) 66-51 in Saturday's final game.

Bristol enjoyed a 20-11 final quarter to get their third win of the season, with Hannah Wallace (21pts, 6reb, 4ast) and Marlee Ball (17pts, 15reb) both impressing.

Sunday's only contest saw Brent Bulls (4-1) continue their push up the D1W standings at the expense of Manchester Mystics (3-3), with the Londoners coming out on top 62-50.

Judit Fritz (17pts) and Lindsey Cleary (16pts) did the bulk of the damage for the hosts, who moved into a share of top spot with the W.
