Following on from Monday's D3 announcement and D2W yesterday, it's time for NBL Division Two to move into the spotlight.
Based on performances across the regular season, we'll also be announcing the WNBL Division One awards tomorrow before NBL Division One on Friday ahead of this weekend's Senior Playoff Finals at Manchester's National Basketball Performance Centre.
As with the awards from previous seasons, each head coach from across D2M's two conferences was invited to nominate a selection of their own players that they considered in the running for each accolade.
Each shortlist was then compiled centrally and sent back to the club's involved, and each head coach was given the opportunity to allocate their votes across this year's shortlist (with teams unable to vote for their own players).
A first place vote was worth three points, a second place vote was worth two points, and a third place vote was worth one point, and the recipient with the highest number of points was the winner.
For Player of the Year, Team of the Year and British Team of the Year, coaches were given five votes to distribute rather than just three.
Note:
As expected for the 20-2 conference winners, there's plenty of love for Bristol Academy Flyers.
David Thomas III (17.8PPG, 7.8RPG, 2.0SPG) grabs Wilson Player of the Year honours, with Chris Bourne (Wilson Coach of the Year) and Corey Hill (15.2PPG, 4.0APG, U19 Player of the Year) also earning recognition.
Derbyshire Arrows' Diogo Soares (2.8SPG, 1.0BPG) earns Defensive Player of the Year honours, whilst Worcester Wolves take home the Best Gameday award for the third season in a row.
MVP Thomas, Soares (17.4PPG, 6.3RPG) plus Cardiff Met Archers' Dan Flaherty (24.6PPG, 6.6RPG) all make the North's Team of the Year, with the Arrows providing a double up in the form of Hamza Ibrahim (23.1PPG, 12.2RPG, 4.7APG), as Leicester Warriors Malik Legania (19.6PPG, 7.7RPG) rounds things out.
Ibrahim also makes the British Team of the Year alongside U19 standout Corey Hill, with Manchester's Demi Babalola (14.9PPG, 7.7RPG), Myerscough's Marcus Robinson (17.9PPG, 3.7APG) and Worcester's Wilfrid Santhe (15.2PPG, 5.5RPG, 5.7APG) completing the British five.
Wilson Player of the Year honours in the South go to London Stars' Ryan Martin (20.8PPG, 12.1RPG, 5.0APG), with the former-GB international impressing for coach Facey's side across the campaign.
League runners up Barking enjoyed a pair of successes, with Rikki Broadmore adding a D2 Coach of the Year award to his EABL South honour from last month, whilst young guard Amarlie Wilkinson (12.6PPG, 4.7RPG, 3.7APG) gets the U19 POTY nod.
London Elite's Joshua Phillips (6.7 DEF RPG, 2.9BPG) was took the South's Defensive Player of the Year award by some distance, clearly making a mark on coaches across the Conference.
Team Solent Kestrels continue to be held in high regard by teams and fans alike, winning another Best Gameday Experience award to follow up the same honour in 2023/24.
Martin anchors both the South's Team of the Year, as well as the British Team of the Year. Shining a light on the level of domestic talent available in D2, Solent's Andre Arissol (15.8PPG, 5.0APG, 3.0SPG) and Isa Brandon (17.5PPG, 7.0RPG, 3.6APG), plus BA's Wilkinson, also make both teams for 2024/25.
NASSA's Sable Cooper (19.1PPG, 6.0RPG, 2.4SPG) rounds out the general Team of the Year, with another Barking standout, Ethan Conway (13.0PPG, 5.0RPG), completing the British five.
Today's awards continue the week of NBL and WNBL end of season honours in the lead up to this weekend's senior playoff finals at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester.
