Basketball England Collegiate 3x3 Tournament: Entries open for Manchester

Basketball England’s Collegiate 3x3 Tournament returns on Wednesday 30 April 2025 at the National Basketball Performance Centre, Manchester. 

The one-day event will see men's and women’s teams, made up of 16-19 year-old further education students, compete to qualify for the Academy 3x3 Finals. 

That event is also at the NBPC on Wednesday 21 May 2025 and the Collegiate finalists will move on to compete at it against the nation's top U19 EABL and WEABL talent.   

Last season’s male-only event was won by Cardiff & Vale College, with Leeds City College runners-up. 

Both tournaments will follow FIBA 3x3 rules with FIBA 3x3 Event Maker being used, meaning players must create a FIBA 3x3 Player Profile ahead of the event to gain ranking points - see buttons below.

Six courts will be in action and there will be a dunk contest and two-point shooting contest. 

A grab bag lunch will be provided. Coaches are welcome to attend, but no coaching can take place during the game. 

Player eligibility 

  • Players must be under 19 and over 16 (the age of each player is taken as at the 1 September 2024) 
  • Players must be enrolled as a student at the Further Education Institution that they are representing 
  • Players must not have been registered to or have played in Basketball England's EABL or WEABL competition for the 2024-25 season 
  • Any Further Education Institution that fields ineligible players during the event will forfeit all their games. 

Other considerations 

  • Further Education Institutions can enter men's and women's teams, with each team comprising of four players. Entry fee is £120 per team. 
  • Further Education Institutions will need to cover their own travel expenses to the event. 
  • Players will need to wear basketball kit that represents their Further Education institution.
