With a number of awards available, including MVP, All-Conference First and Second Teams, Most Improved Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, U17 Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, the end-of-season awards are a fitting way to single out some of the great performances from across the last six months.

MVP

The EABL's North Conference award goes to Derby's Casey Burr after the 6'4" wing averaged a league second-best 21.2PPG in his debut EABL campaign.

Despite Derby finishing fourth in the regular season with a 2-8 record, coaches across the league were impressed with Burr's performances.. That was reflected by his EABL third-best mark for efficiency, whilst the Derby standout also crept into the top 10 for steals per games as well (2.2SPG).

Burr was chased by Manchester's Demi Babalola, with BMet's Nektarios Papadopoulos rounding out the top three vote getters.

After their strong showing in the South conference, Barking Abbey's Ethan Conway has picked up this season's MVP award.

Conway helped his side to a perfect record across the regular season, taking on all comers with a well-rounded 14.9PPG, 4.6RPG, 1.7APG, 1.7SPG stat line for the season.

Conway also finished in the league's top 10 for three-point shooting, hitting an impressive 34.5% of his efforts to give Barking's offence another weapon.

The BA man just managed to pip team-mate Amarlie Wilkinson to the award, with third place going to JMA's Isaac Spurrier for his standout season.

Coach of the Year

Four-time EABL Coach of the Year Neal Hopkins is now a five-time winner, adding the 2024/25 award to previous honours in 2013/14, 2014/15, 2017/18 and 2019/20.

Hopkins helped guide the North West programme to their first North Conference title since 2022/23, earning praise from fellow coaches for his side's performances and style of play.

He narrowly beat SGS' Chris Bourne, who came second in the voting, with Charnwood's Louis Chamberlain coming in third.

With his side sweeping the South Conference, it is no surprise to see Barking's first-year Head Coach Rikki Broadmore taking Coach of the Year honours.

With Broadmore earning praise for his teams' overall record and position as well as their cohesiveness as a unit, and the individual development across the season from a number of their players.

MVP Ethan Conway, plus the likes of Amarlie Wilkinson, Kervy Mabaya and Lewis Obiorah have all benefitted from Broadmore's approach, making him a worthy winner.

The Barking man took the award ahead of Itchen's Matt Guymon, with last year's winner Jay Williams rounding out the top three.

All Conference First Team

MVP Burr is automatically placed into the five, and he's joined by a pair of Manchester Magic standouts in the form of Demi Babalola and Jack Walton.

Babalola led the league in efficiency, and his 19.3PPG went with 9.0RPG across a standout campaign. Walton marshalled the Magic offence with style as the guard dished 5.7APG to go with 14.2PPG and an EABL second-best 41.3 3pt %.

Junior Sanchez (12.7PPG, 7.3RPG, 2.7APG) gets the nod as Myerscough's pick, with BMet's Nektarios Papadopoulos taking the league's scoring title (21.8PPG) to earn his place.

MVP Conway slots straight into the line-up, creating the starting point for a solid quintet that includes not one but two Barking picks.

Conway is joined by team-mate Amerlie Wilkinson (12.3PPG, 5.6RPG, 5.1APG, 3.5SPG) who led the league in steals this season and moves up from All-Second Team honours a year ago.

JMA's Isaac Spurrier enjoyed a high-quality campaign that involved 20.7PPG to help the Rockets into the playoffs, whilst fellow Reading standout Ethan Round (19.4PPG, 4.0APG, 2.7SPG) also gets the nod to follow in his brother's foot steps from a year ago.

That just leaves CoLA's Isaac Fiagbe to round things out as he makes it back-to-back first team selections, with the forward ranking fifth on the efficiency charts after a 16.7PPG, 10.0RPG double-double season.

All Conference Second Team

Myerscough's Marcus Robinson (13.5PPG, 4.9APG) makes it into the North's second team for the conference winners, with Charnwood duo Lewis Malcolm (13.8PPG, 8.5RPG) and Caiden Ross (14.6PPG, 4.5RPG, 2.6SPG) also earning a spot.

BMet's Larry Duru was second in efficiency this season, and his 16.6PPG and 10.2RPG earned him recognition, as Manchester's Ronney Ani (15.8PPG, 6.9RPG) is also included.

In the South, Itchen College also provide a double up as Jaiden Dawes (13.0PPG, 9.7RPG) and Joe Lloyd (14.0PPG, 1.6SPG) head things up.

Kervy Mabaya (15.4PPG, 8.2RPG) played a big part in Barking's success and earned the praise of coaches around the league, with EABL second-highest rebounder Gavin Mitchell (17.4PPG, 10.5RPG) also selected.

CoLA guard Khyle Capanzana also returns to the 2nd team to make it back-to-back picks, averaging 9.8PPG, 4.2RPG and 3.6APG for the conference runners up.

Defensive Player of the Year

BMet City of Birmingham Rockets' Nektarios Papadopoulos is the North Conference Defensive Player of the Year, with Amarlie Wilkinson making it consecutive wins after taking home the same award a year ago.

Papadopoulos nabbed 2.1 steals per outing for the Rockets this year, plus 4.3 defensive rebounds, to narrowly secure the win ahead of Charnwood's Caiden Ross.

Wilkinson, as he was a year ago, was a near unanimous choice in the South. With the talented guard helping to anchor the best defence in the EABL this season, Barking allowed just 55.4PPG, and Wilkinson secured a league-best 3.5SPG in the process.

Most Improved Player

SGS' Ashton Dyer and Itchen's Jakub Ofman are this year's MIP winners.

Both players received some attention on the Conference team voting without cracking into the first or second team, but the duo both have a bright future ahead of them after earning recognition from coaches across the EABL.

Dyer (13.7PPG) top-scored for the Bristol programme this season, also chipping in a useful 5.5RPG for good measure.

Despite being fourth on Itchen's list of average minutes with 22.2, Ofman still averaged 12.0PPG and 7.0RPG to show why he's so highly thought of on the South coast.

U17 Player of the Year

Awarded to the best Year 12 players from across the league, Derby's Casey Burr and Barking's Obinna Ekufu are this year's winners.

With Burr collecting the North's overall MVP award, it's no surprise to see the EABL debutant also recognised here.

Despite Barking's heavy hitters, including MVP winner Ethan Conway, Ekufu carved himself a solid spot in BA's rotation this year, dropping 11.9PPG to go with 5.3RPG.
