In a potential playoff dress rehearsal, leaders Hemel Storm earned a tough road victory against Milton Keynes, with a 97-92 final score.
The visitors build an early lead that passed 20 points at its peak, but MK fought back to ensure an even second half, exciting fans with multiple lead changes before Hemel secured the win.
With the teams entering the fourth quarter all tied up at 69-69, but a quick 8-0 run from the Breakers involving baskets from Adrian Scarborough (25pts, 11reb) and captain Jordan Spencer (24pts, 8reb, 8ast), put MK in the box seats.
Hemel refused to go quietly, and boosted by one of the performances of the weekend from Trent Monkman (35pts, 6reb), Storm got back on level terms before moving ahead for good.
Monkman was supported by double-doubles from Darien Nelson-Henry (19pts, 10reb) and Sam Newman (13pts, 10ast, 6reb), with Veron Eze chipping in 16 points from the Hemel bench.
Both teams shot well in the contest, with MK's 46% clip being edged by Storm's 51%, making for a high-quality and exciting match up.
The Breakers have a short turn around before a rare Thursday night game against Bristol, whilst Hemel are on the road in Essex next Sunday as they continue their journey towards securing the regular season title.

Nottingham Hoods (5-13) secured a huge win against Bristol Hurricanes (9-9), coming through as 93-81 winners to boost their survival chances.
Playing without guard duo Elvisi Dusha and Denzel Ubiaro, a 27-point, 19-rebound effort from Daniel Edozie would ultimately be in vain, with John Murdock Jr (24pts, 9ast) leading the charge for the Hoods.
Bradford Dragons (5-12) also picked up a key win at the bottom, seeing off City of Birmingham Rockets (7-13) 92-85 thanks to 24 points from reigning Player of the Week Justin Williams.
Despite trailing for much of the first half, the Dragons found their groove in the third to build a 19-point lead, using it to see out the game and secure their fifth win of the campaign.
Success for Nottingham and Bradford was bad news for Worthing Thunder (4-16), who slipped to the foot of the D1M table after a 110-78 defeat by Essex Rebels (10-7).
The hosts couldn't contain the Rebels' firepower, particularly during a pivotal 34-18 third quarter, with Kyron Martin (24pts, 6/11 3PT) and Emmanuel Kanwei (18pts) both making telling contributions.
Derby Trailblazers (12-6) moved into third spot following a 78-59 win against Newcastle Knights (6-11).
A 26-8 opening frame got Newcastle off to a hot start, only to be reeled in by a 24-9 Derby second period.
The hosts enjoyed the best of things after the main change, boosted by 32 points off the Trailblazers' bench from Jai Pathmarajah, leaving the Knights looking over their shoulder after wins for the Dragons and Hoods.
Sunday's only game was a cracker as Reading Rockets (15-4) beat Loughborough Riders (11-9) 89-88.
Loughborough's first lead of the game came on a Michael Joiner lay-up with 56 seconds remaining, setting up a thrilling finish at Lodden Valley.
Reading captain Lewis Champion drove to the lane with 14 ticks remaining, making the bucket and drawing the foul for the game's key play. Justin Hopkins would add two from the line as Loughborough fought to find a way back into the contest, but when Victor Ndoukou's triple found the rim rather than the net, their race was done.
Victor Olarerin (29pts) top scored for the Rocket before fouling out late to force free throws from the Riders, with Victor Ndoukou (33pts) the standout for the visitors.
