Nominate your Slam Jammer of the week

Basketball England is launching an eight-week social media campaign for its grassroots basketball programme Slam Jam.

BE is looking for the best Slam Jammers from across the country, and each week from April to the end of May, will showcase a Slam Jammer of the Week across its social channels to celebrate how participants enjoy playing basketball and learning new skills through the programme.

Each Slam Jammer of the Week will also win a weekly prize of great basketball gear.

All those featured will then be entered into a competition for the chance to be crowned Slam Jammer of the Year, where the winners (one boy and one girl) will get the chance to rub shoulders with some of England's best basketball talent.

Registrations for BE's entry level basketball programme for 7-11-year-olds have been going from strength-to-strength, with over 40 clubs and 800 participants registered, as well as over 40 schools and 5000 students.

Basketball England’s Participation Programmes Manager Nick Holloway said:

"There is a real sense of excitement around this programme's growth, and we look forward to celebrating our current group of Slam Jammers through this initiative.

"Slam Jam is all about giving kids a great first touch point with our sport and we hope these programmes will be the first step in participants becoming lifelong players of our great game."
