WNBL1 recap: 22/23 March 2025 - live streams, stats and more

D1W's regular season is down to just one remaining weekend.

Eight contests played out over the last few days, with big wins from CoLA, Brent, and Ipswich at the top, whilst Barking join Reading as being confirmed for a bottom-two finish.

We take a look back at all the weekend's match-ups below, with links to live stats at the bottom of the page.

CoLA Southwark Pride (18-3) 63-52 Manchester Mystics (12-10)

CoLA set themselves up for a final game showdown with Brent Bulls as they beat Manchester Mystics 63-52.

Knowing they'll claim the D1W regular-season title with an unblemished finish to their campaign, CoLA have now won six a row and stand just one more victory away from securing top spot.

Both teams enjoyed opportunities to lead in the contest, though the game was flipped on its head following a 22-7 final frame that turned a 45-41 Manchester lead into a double-digit Pride victory.

The hosts enjoyed 24 points and six rebounds from Ayla Habbal, as Adaora Dioramma (13pts, 18reb) provided a big double-double in support.

The loss was Manchester's final action of the regular season, closing on a loss as the North West side now wait on 10-win Loughborough to finish their schedule and confirm the final placings.

Manchester's young standout Irene Oboavwoduo was held in check (4pts, 2/12FGs), with Kizzy Spence-Mussington (15pts) top scoring for the Mystics.

Elsewhere this weekend

Endeavour Ipswich Basketball (18-4)ended their regular season on a high, beating Loughborough Riders (10-10) 68-58.

Harriet Welham (18pts, 17reb) was once again the standout for Ipswich, who no longer have a route to top spot to defend their regular-season crown.

Cerys Leach(18pts) and Louisa Gibbins (14pts, 10reb) also played well for the visitors as Alex Shaw (16pts, 8reb) top scored for the Riders.

Barking Abbey (4-18) were confirmed as finishing in the potential relegation spots alongside Reading as they lost out 60-57 against Bristol Academy Flyers (12-10).

It was a heartbreaking way to go for the Londoners as Alice Woodward's late triple couldn't hit the mark, leaving Leila Jepson (20pts) and the Flyers to celebrate a nail-biting win.

Worcester Wolves (10-11) claimed a statement win, and a playoff spot, as they went out on the road and knocked off Anglia Ruskin University (13-9), winning 72-71 thanks to a buzzer beating layup from Nina Wallace.

Wallace (18pts, 13reb) top scored for the Wolves, cancelling out a 32 point outing from ARU's Tia Freeman as her side's fourth quarter comeback attempt fell just short.

Cobham Cobras (6-16) will join Worcester in enjoying a second season in D1W after last season's promoted sides both survive, though the Cobras did dip out in OT 80-68 against London Cavaliers (7-12) to end their campaign.

Elsewhere, Brent Bulls (16-4) beat Reading Rockets (2-20) 75-65 on Saturday before knocking off Barking 77-47 on Sunday, and Bristol ended their season with a 79-68 victory against London.
