Ahead of a busy schedule in 2019, Basketball England is pleased to announce the England Talent Programmesβ plans for the coming year. They have been created in line with the Basketball England Talent Plan that was released in September 2018 and as part of our ambitions to develop a world class talent system for players, volunteers and professionals within the sport.
The England Talent Programmes will focus on the Under 14 and Under 15 age groups (2004 & 2005 born players) and will involve an emphasis on exposing players and coaches to European styles of play and conditions. By doing this earlier and more frequently than ever before with our talented athletes, we are making strides to better equip our players for selection and competition at FIBA European Championships with Great Britain squads from under 16 level onward.
In conjunction with our Regional Talent Managers, we are finalising the list of players that will be selected to attend the initial England Talent Programme camps in Manchester during Easter. These squad lists will be announced on the Basketball England website tomorrow at 10:00am.
