Basketball England has today announced that elected Board member Alan Richardson has chosen to step down from his role within the organisation with immediate effect. Alan has decided to move away from the Board and focus on his passion in the game, which is officiating.
"I'd like to thank Alan for the service he has given to the Basketball England Board over the last year and the expertise he has brought to the organisation," said Basketball England Chair Clare Wardle. "I am sure he will continue to make a significant impact on the game at all levels through his skills and experience as both an official and tutor."
Alan will still be involved with Basketball England as he continues his role on our Officiating Advisory Group. This means that the improvements the group have already made will continue with the support of Alan and his wealth of experience in this area.
We are sure you will join us in thanking Alan for his contribution to the Board, and wish him well for his continuing work within the sport.
