#ProjectSwish is back for 2020!

Basketball England has relaunched #ProjectSwish – a hugely successful initiative that aims to distribute thousands of free basketball nets for outdoor hoops across the country.

The project was a big hit in 2019, smashing the initial target of 1,000 nets within the first month.

In total over 2,250 nets were put up on courts across the country and 2020 looks set to be even better with more and more outdoor courts reopening to the public following COVID-19 restrictions.

With an increased target of 2,500 nets, provided by our newly announced Official Equipment Supplier Sure Shot, we’re looking to keep that momentum going.

Basketball England’s Interim Chief Operating Officer Peter Griffiths said: “We’re really excited to be able launch #ProjectSwish for 2020 and support the basketball community.

“At a time when outdoor courts are the only places to play, we’re sure that people across the country will continue to embrace the programme and take it to the next level.”

#ProjectSwish is also relaunching with a new logo, designed by artist Gareth Roberts from Project in the Paint. With a great new look and feel, the logo will continue to make the project easily identifiable for players across the country.

Not only can basketball players of all ages and abilities benefit from #ProjectSwish, but their support will also help us identify courts in key locations for potential renovation.

Plus, recipients of the nets can help Basketball England increase the ‘Find A Court’ database by posting a picture of the newly installed net on Instagram with the court’s location and the #ProjectSwish hashtag.

With plenty of prizes to be won for the best photos submitted to us, plus competitions to win more great gear, head over to @projectswishengland on IG for more.

And if you want to rep #ProjectSwish and the great work we’re doing with the basketball community, why not take a look at the range of #ProjectSwish merchandise on our newly-launched Basketball England shop?

With plans in place to increase our range in the coming weeks, all proceeds from #ProjectSwish specific sales also go towards renovating and refurbishing outdoor courts.
