WNBL Division One Preview - Week 23 (7/8 March 2020)

Six games make up week 23 of the WNBL, with double-headers in store for Reading Rockets and Solent Kestrels.

Game of the week

Anglia Ruskin University (13-2) v Team Solent Kestrels (10-4)

There's an exciting match up between second and third as Kestrels head to Ruskin. Six points separate the two, but with Ruskin just two points off leaders Ipswich with a game in hand, they will be looking to make a statement this week in their quest  to seal the regular season title.

Player of week 22 Katrin Hulme will want to carry her 24 point, 15 rebound double-double performance into a must win game for her side.

Kestrels will hope to have built up some momentum to halt the Ruskin train by getting a positive result against London Lions II (3-12) the day before.

Ipswich won't go down without a fight though, and face Loughborough Riders (2-14) this weekend. Loughborough fell to a heavy defeat against Ruskin last week and they will have to contain the likes of Harriet Welham to avoid the same outcome, after the Ipswich star dropped 29 points in week 22.

Bristol Academy Flyers (7-8) will be looking to Flo Ward to produce again after her 24 points sealed a narrow win against Nottingham Trent. They face Thames Valley Cavaliers (9-7) who have a big defeat against Reading Rockets to bounce back from.

Rockets (9-4) meanwhile, will look to build on that as they hit they road to Southwark Pride (3-11) before hosting (Nottingham Trent (4-10) as they continue their quest for a top four spot.
