Born in 1930, Harry held a host of important roles within basketball, dedicating his life to the sport.
He served in many important offices in the NGB, including director, first making a significant contribution to the management of the national competitions in the early 60s.
No mean player, he ran out with teams in the Medway, his home patch, the London Polytechnic and the LLSK, amongst others.
He shone as a referee, officiating locally, regionally, nationally and blowing an impressive series of FIBA games.
Over several years he enthusiastically managed both the national senior men’s and women’s international programme and coached the very successful Abbey Woods Women’s Team.
As well as enjoying golf on the course near his home in Sanderstead, he presided over the England Basketball Disciplinary Committee.
He was a founder member of the English Basketball Fellowship and a member of the executive committee.
