Return To Play: BE fitness webinar to maximise performance and minimise injuries

Basketball England will host a webinar to help players and coaches minimise the risk of injury when they return to the courts following lockdown.

Following the Government's recent announcement of the easing of restrictions, BE has provided a roadmap back to playing the game

Andy Howse, BE's Head of Physiotherapy and Sports Science, said:

"We understand players, coaches, parents are anticipating the return to basketball, whether it is at a club, school or college and whether it is indoor or outdoor.

"However, the enthusiasm of all players and coaches needs to be harnessed in a way that doesn't cause a spike in injuries.  Unfortunately we have all seen the large injury rates within all sports at the moment and we do not want basketball to go the same way."

Howse and Mark Williams, BE's Interim Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, will present a webinar entitled Return to Play - Maximising Performance, Minimising Injuries on Thursday 11 March at 7.30pm.

The talk will be aimed at players, coaches and parents and will talk about conditioning, recovery and improving individual performance.
