EABL and WEABL Academy League 3x3 tournament: Schedule, rosters, score updates

The EABL and WEABL Academy League 3x3 tournament takes place across six courts at Manchester's National Basketball Performance Centre on Wednesday. 

Teams of U19 players from the the elite academies of the EABL and WEABL will fight it out in the half-court format of the game for the right to be called national champions. 

Reigning EABL champs Charnwood College will be represented, while WEABL winners CoLA, who also took the WNBL1 regular-season and playoff crowns, are also looking for more glory. 

In both the male and female competitions, the teams will play each other once in the opening round with the top eight going through to a knockout round of quarter-finals, semis and final. There will also be three-point contests. Play starts at 11am. 

The tournament will be played to FIBA 3x3 rules. Rosters, fixtures and results can be seen on the play.fiba3x3.com website below. Results will be updated live - use the tabs to switch between sections.

3x3 on the rise

The 3x3 form of basketball is on the rise as fans across the country look forward to Team England doing battle for medals at this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. 

The summer months will also see the return of the iconic Ball Out UK Tour in partnership with Basketball England. The expanded tour visits five cities before culminating in two days of finals at London’s Finsbury Park in August.

Basketball has the power to change lives. The #GameTime campaign will aim to raise awareness of the positive impact that our sport can have on people no matter who they are or where they are from. 

Basketball England aims to engage one million people in basketball via the Commonwealth Games 2022, 3x3 and more.
