Rebound All Stars 2023: Livestream, schedule for NBL1 & WNBL1 showcase

The Rebound All Stars returns on Sunday 7 May to showcase the top talent in NBL1 and WNBL1.

The All Stars is an independently organised event run by Chris Hughes, Director of Rebound Basketball, and affiliated to Basketball England.

The end-of-season event again takes place in Solent University, after the debut All-Stars show at the same venue was attended by more than 300 people last year and was live-streamed to an audience of around 3,000.

How it works

The showcase event brings some of the best players from across NBL1 and WNBL1, with D1 coaches voting on the selection process with the All Stars Coaches, players and organisers selecting replacements where needed.

In the women’s event, captains Alia El Shabrawy (Loughborough) and Lindsey Cleary (Reading Rockets) will lead the two teams, in the men’s game it will be Team Taylor Johnson (Hemel Storm) v a team led by Bradford Dragon’s Jordan Whelan.

WNBL1 Team of the Year star Cleary will be reunited with Head Coach Ben Stanley (Solent), who has lead roles in both the men’s and women’s games on the back of a league and play-off WNBL1 double.

Kestrels’ League and Play-Off MVP Faye Endean is part of the action and said: “It feels really great, especially after last year’s Rebound All Stars was so exciting!”

Cleary is one of five Rockets players involved with Troy Cracknell, part of the men’s game, saying: “Very honoured and excited to be a part of the second annual Rebound All Stars game. Can’t wait to get on the court and play with and against the best guys in the league.”

What happened last season?

The debut event brought more than 60 of the league’s best players together for celebration of the NBL scene.

Solent’s Taylor Gaffney and Kai Walker won the skills and dunk contests respectively, with Zaire Taylor winning the three-point contest.

The two Showcase games did not disappoint as Katrine Hulme bowed out of WNBL D1 action with an MVP performance in an overtime win. Taylor Johnson also led his team to victory, netting the winning three with the game clock running down.
