WNBL Division One preview - Week 5 (26/27 October 2019)

Three fixtures in the WNBL Division One, with just one team retaining their unbeaten run as second-place Team Solent Kestrels went 3-0 following their 58-49 victory over table toppers Anglia Ruskin University last weekend.

Game of the Week

Team Solent Kestrels (3-0) v Ipswich Basketball (3-1)

It’s second versus third in the WNBL Division One, as Ipswich Town look to upset Team Solent Kestrels’ unbeaten run when they go head to head at Copleston Centre.

Ipswich’s only defeat of the season so far came against Anglia Ruskin University in week two, but they bounced back defeating Thames Valley Cavaliers the following weekend. Harriet Welham impressed yet again, awarded the WNBL Division One Player of the Week for the second time this season. The talented young shooter dropped an impressive 38 points, adding 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Team Solent Kestrels will look to retain their unbeaten record, whilst they sit second in the table on points difference and with a game in hand over Anglia Ruskin University, who they recently defeated 58-49.

Elsewhere in WNBL Division One

Just two other games in the division, as Anglia Ruskin University (3-1) look to keep their place at the top of the table and bounce back from their recent loss as they host 9th-placed Nottingham Trent University (0-2)

Thames Valley Cavaliers (1-3) vs Loughborough Riders (1-1) will both challenge for their second success of the season at Uxbridge college.
