Basketball England are excited to support regional basketball activities to help grow the game and support its strategic objectives. Through a membership rebate scheme, Basketball England is supporting member associations, clubs and leagues with their basketball development plans.

If you are a thriving association, club or league who requires financial support with a new initiative or an initiative that is ready to go to the next level then we may be able to help. Typically we are supporting applications between £100 and £1000.

Funding is provided to each region on a seasonal basis and while applications can be made to regions at any point in the season , interested parties are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as funds will be awarded on a first come first serve basis. The first review of applications will take place in November and so all applications should be sent to your Regional Chair by Sunday 17th November.

Participation Growth

Women & Girls Participation - Are you thinking or creating an opportunity for women and girls or do you have an existing programme that you are ready to grow?

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion participation & development - Do you have a vision to grow the participation numbers for diverse groups and be more inclusive?

To increase & support junior participation - You maybe an organisation that are supporting the youth of today providing an outlet and getting them involved in Basketball.

To increase general participation / membership - General participation may be your objective, setting basketball programmes for new or returning people into the game.

Workforce Support

Workforce Support, Officials, Coaches, Volunteer - Does your association league or club need support with growing or supporting the workforce so that you competitions can operate effectively by putting members through one of our technical courses?

Officials' Referee Appointment System - Do you need a sophisticated appointment tools that manages game appointments, availability, competency groups, appointment notifications, game count reports and much, much more?

Officials' Performance System - Would you benefit from officials self evaluation forms, officiating coach evaluation forms, officials portfolios & game clip review platform to create or develop your officials development programmes?

Improving Your Operations

Website - Do you need to up the ante and create a website to host all of your organisations, information, games, leagues, referee appointments or any other information you wish to share with your association, league or club members?

Game Management System - Make your league more exiting and efficient with a fixture generation tool, league tables, scores and schedule.

Player Registration (this is not BE membership) - Capture all player information and manage playing eligibility for your competition, AND, use of player data to input into a digital scoresheet if this is a feature you choose to use.

Digital Scoresheet - Take advantage of a brand new tablet operated scoring system that captures all scoresheet inputs and records all data entries at a touch of a button.

Facility funding - Do you have access to a facility that needs a bit of a face lift or an up grade in some of the equipment?

We are exited to support and grow the programmes within your association, league or club to achieve you strategic goals. Please read the criteria below to discover if you are eligible for the development grant fund.

Criteria

To be eligible for the development grant fund you have to fulfil the following criteria.

• Be a member organisation - whether that be an association, league or club.
• Be able to evidence the requirement for the fund through the Development Grant application process.
• Be able to breakdown the cost of your project in detail in the Development Grant Project Budget 24-25 form.
• Be able to fulfil the monitoring and evaluation process when your project is underway.

Process

Please read the guidance instruction to apply for the fund:

• Read, in full, the information detailed on the Development Grant webpage.
• Check and be comfortable that you meet the criteria before applying.
• Affiliate as member organisation if you are not already.
• Complete the development grant funding application form in full.
• Complete the Development Grant Project Budget 24-25 form with full cost details.
• Basketball England staff will vet the application and the budget document submission. We may be in contact with some questions about your application.
• You will receive a notification as to whether your application was successful.
• If successful - you will be asked to complete a funding agreement which will include monitoring and evaluation requirements.
