AQ Basketball helping girls enjoy and excel in basketball

AQ Basketball is a girls and women's basketball organisation committed to creating opportunities for players to enjoy and excel in basketball.

Created in 2017, the organisation has helped shape the basketball journeys of some of British basketball's established and rising female players, including Savannah Wilkinson and Athena Thompson.

AQ is known best for its All Stars Summer Camp, designed and delivered specifically for girls, with a majority women coaching staff.

And over the last three years, it has been taking select teams of English talent to Spain for The Spanish Event, a tournament hosted by Elite Sports Academy, which pits Europe's rising female players against each other.

There is also an opportunity for players to attend 3.60 Method's basketball camps in Spain, which the organisation says has been a great way for girls to grow their passion for the game and make friends.

The latest addition to the AQ slate is its university programme, which offers a holistic development approach to improving basketball players at UK-based universities. This includes year-round mentoring from some of Britain's best female players, strength and conditioning, psychology clinics, sports therapy, 3x3 competitions, basketball skill development sessions and more.

Former junior GB player Tamara Fournillier-Onadeko said:

“AQ is the home for girls basketball in England. It connects us from every corner of the country to form a community of females, from junior and senior age groups, to learn, laugh, coach and compete in the sport we all share a love for.

"Every year we are playing our part in helping plant the seeds of excellence in girls' basketball. Every year the AQ family grows and we can't wait to see the next generation come and maximise the opportunities we are creating for them."
