The basketball tournament for secondary schools and colleges in England
The Dynamik National Schools Competition is a league with age groups from Under-14 to Under-19 for both girls and boys across England.
It gives every age group in secondary school the chance to compete outside of their normal PE classes and local competitions.
2025/26 competition
The 2025/26 Dynamik National Schools Competition will get under way in September following the closure of July's application window.
It promises to be another exciting campaign on the road to the finals at Manchester's National Basketball Performance Centre, with returning schools and those that have expressed interest in joining for the first time set to battle it out.
Key dates and structure
Please take a moment to review the structure and key dates below to ensure your teams can fully commit:
Pool and county rounds:
- 29 September – 19 December 2025

How it works
The competition consists of pools of teams that compete against each other to reach the playoffs. Teams who progress then compete in knockout fixtures as they try and make their way to the finals in Manchester, where the top two teams in each category battle it out to be crowned champions.
From 2025/26, all Basketball England leagues and competitions – including the Dynamik Schools – will be administered via the PlayHQ digital platform.
The system will collate team registrations, results and fixtures and tables which will be available via a new BE app.
In September, we will also host online training sessions with PlayHQ to support teachers and coaches in using the system. Further details on how to register for these sessions will be sent out at the end of summer.
