Standout performances
The most talked about game of the weekend was surely Liverpool's 2OT victory of local rivals St Helens. The 108-105 slugfest was a terrific advert for the league straight out of the gate, with multiple players putting up solid stat lines.
Much-fancied Solent Kestrels started with a victory, 91-61, on the road against Greenwich Titans, whilst another former D1 winner, Manchester Magic, saw off Oxford Hoops 79-53.
The London derby between the Stars and the Elite went the way of the Stars, as the hosts won 95-70, and Worcester delighted an impressive home crowd with a 70-60 victory over Sheffield Sharks II.
What does it mean for the standings?
It is surely too early to jump on the bandwagon for some teams or hit the panic button on others, but with action in the books, the table for both pools can be viewed using the button below.
Player-of-the-week candidates
Despite it only being week one, some players already look to be in mid-season form.
With two extra periods in the North West, it's no surprise to see the likes of Liverpool's Dante Sofia (21pts, 15reb, 5ast, feature image) and St Helens' Connor Murtagh (36pts, 9reb) putting up eye-catching stat lines.
Ryan Martin (27pts, 17reb, 9ast) and Nojus Zajankauskas (19pts, 7reb, and 7ast) were both on-song for the Stars against London Elite, whilst Jack Walton (22pts, 5reb, 5ast) sank four triples as the pick of the bunch in Manchester's victory over Oxford.
Watch out for the winner on our social channels, with the announcement going live at 5pm on Monday evening.
