Ashley Hamilton
About Ashley
Ashley Hamilton is one GB’s greatest basketball exports.
His name is synonymous with 5v5, having played professionally since 2013 across Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Greece, Lebanon, Canada, France, as well as domestically in the Super League Basketball (formerly the British Basketball League) where he won the BBL Trophy with MVP honours for the London City Royals, and had a stint with the Plymouth Raiders.
Today, the 37-year-old is widely recognised as one of the pioneers of the British 3x3 movement.
As one of the first players from the traditional professional game to fully embrace the professional 3x3 circuit, he has become a key figure in the development of the discipline both domestically and internationally.
In recent years, he set up with his wife, Alice, the UK's first pro 3x3 outfit, London 3x3, with the goal of earning FIBA World Tour points for Olympic qualification.
Currently, Hamilton is the highest-featured GB player in the FIBA 3x3 rankings and has been a part of the country’s finest 3x3 performances on an international stage including qualifying for GB’s first ever appearance in the men’s FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup tournament in 2024 and World Cup in 2025.
He also set up a foundation in Sierra Leone, where his family is from, sponsoring a local football team and providing scholarships to some of the players.
